Service Highlights

• This was a special service designed and conducted by the children of St. Ansgar's Sunday School programme.

• The Sunday School Choir sang for us they lit the second Advent Candle

St. Ansgar's Sunday School Choir

• Our Opening Hymn:
  Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel,
  And ransom captive Israel,
  That mourns in lonely exile here
  Until the Son of God appear.
  Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
  Shall come to you, O Israel.

  Oh come, strong branch of Jesse, free
  Your own from Satan's tyranny;
  From depths of hell your people save
  And give them victory over the grave.

• The lessons were read by Sascha and Sophia, of the Sunday School.

• Isaiah 40:1-11
  

  Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God...
  A voice cries out: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in a desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. then the glory o the Lord shall be revealed..."

• 2 Peter 3:8-15a
  

  ...with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. The Lord is not slow about his promise... but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentence...

• The Sunday School Choir ministered to us

  With a tail as big as a kite

• The Gospel Lesson: Mark 1:1-8
  

  As it is written in the prophet Isaiah, "See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way; the voice of one crying out in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight"...
