We Speak to God

Opening Hymn

Jesus Christ is ris'n today Alleluia! Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!

Who did once upon the cross Alleluia! Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!,

Hymns of praise then let sing, Alleluia! Unto Christ, our heav'nly king, Alleluia!

Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia! Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!

But the pains which he endured, Alleluial Our salvation have procured;

Alleluia! Now above the sky he's king, Alleluia! Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!

Sing we to our God above, Alleluia! Praise eternal as his love; Alleluia!

Praise him, all you heav'nly host, Alleluia! Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia!

Invocation:

P: In the name of the Father, who created and provides for us, we say

C: God is with us. Alleluia

P: And of the Son, Jesus our Saviour, who died and rose that we may live eternally, we say

C: God is with us. Alleluia!

P: And of the Holy Spirit, who assures us of God's presence and keeps us in the faith, we say

C: God is with us. Alleluia!

Confession & Forgiveness:

P: God does indeed bless us. Therefore we bring before almighty God those things which lie heavily upon us. (Silence for a time of personal reflection.) Almighty God, we confess to You those things which You already know.

C: We are sinful, We have abandoned Your Word. We have sought a peace of our own making. We have grieved Your Holy Spirit. Forgive us, we pray, in the name of Jesus Christ who died and rose again.

P: There is good news for us. God has so loved us He gave His only Son to die for us. Those who receive Jesus are given the power to become the children of God and are granted the gifts of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus there is forgiveness and peace which the world cannot give. Christ is risen!

C: He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

P: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

C: And also with you.

Hymn of Praise:

This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Worthy is Christ, the Lamb who was slain, whose blood set us free to be people of God.

This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Power, riches, wisdom and strength, and honor, blessing, and glory are his.

This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Sing with all the people of God, and join in the hymn of all creation: Blessing, honor, glory, and might be to God and the Lamb forever.  Amen.

This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

For the Lamb who was slain has begun his reign.  Alleluia

This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

P: The Lord be with you.

C: And also with you.

P: Let us pray... O God, you gave your only Son to suffer death on the cross for our redemption, and by his glorious resurrection you delivered us from the power of death. Make us die every day to sin, so that we may live with him forever in the joy of the resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever

C: Amen

We Respond to God's Word

Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary

He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again.

He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

Prayers of the Church:

(After each petition, the following is recited.)

L:O Lord, the shroud of death is gone.

C: O Christ, the grace of life is come.

Sharing of Peace:

(Members of the congregation greet each other)

Christ is Risen!

He is risen indeed!

Offering & Presentation of Gifts

Let the vineyards be fruitful, Lord, and fill to the brim our cup of blessing.

Gather a harvest from the seeds that were sown,

that we may be fed with the bread of life.

Gather the hopes and the dreams of all; unite them with the prayers we offer now.

Grace our table with your presence, and give us a foretaste of the feast to come.

Offertory Prayer:

L: Merciful Father

C: we offer with joy and thanksgiving what you have first given us - our selves, our time, and our possessions, signs of your gracious love. Receive them for the sake of him who offered himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

The Great Thanksgiving:

P: The Lord be with You

C: And also with you

P: Lift up your hearts

C: We lift them to the Lord.

P: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

C: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

P: It is indeed right and salutary ...we praise your name and join in your unending hymn:

C:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might:

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna, Hosanna. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

P: In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, And gave thanks; and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this in remembrance of me.

Lord's Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen

Lamb of God:

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us.
