Dear Friends in Christ,

We gather at Saint Ansgar's for fellowship and for spiritual strength, for our work as a congregation. Our programs here at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church are geared to provide fellowship, discovery of your spiritual gifts, growth into the person of Jesus Christ, service opportunities and spriritual food for people of all ages.

As a church, we seek to be molded by God into the image of Christ Jesus and his teaching. This in an ongoing process and we invite you to join us as people being formed as disciples of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

As you glance through this website, it is our prayer that you will come to know a little more about the congregational life of Saint Ansgar's Lutheran Church. I believe that God is doing a mighty work as Saint Ansgar's.

Pictures from the Pastor's Middle East Trip
In May of 2008, Pastor Samuel went to Israel to participate in the Middle East Peace Initiatiive organized by the World Peace Federation. Upon his return, he showed the congregation slides from his trip. These pictures are taken from that slide show.

Want to pass the word about St. Ansgar's to your friends? The latest edition of the St. Ansgar's flyer has been produced, which explains in a nutshell all about who we are. (The flyer is arranged for printing: Once printed, fold it into four parts, with the church on page one.)
Pictures from the Seniors' Events of 1998-2004 (Courtesy Anna Thomsen) have been posted. Look back on many familiar faces, a number of which are, sadly, no longer with us.
We are working on a new web page design. It is incomplete. We are waiting only for additional texts to be written. (These texts are currently shown in Latin. Feel free to forward suggestions for content to the webmaster!) Once it goes live, all of the material on the current web site will be ported over. Check it out.

Announcements to our St. Ansgar's Community

The Mystery Supper (October 19) and the Annual Bazaar (November 2) were both great successes! Neither would have been possible without the army of willing and helpful hands which pitched in.

The next installment of the third season of A Taste of... will be on Sunday, December 1,, right after the service. Come and sample and judge our best home-baked/cooked productions!

In our special prayers this week are:

Our prayers are with the pastors and church workers of all congregations in our community and country, that God may sustain them with His strength, grace and mercy.
Even though they are now off the evening news, our prayers remain with the people of Haiti. We are also praying for our Christian brethren in the Arab world, most notably in Palestine, Iraq and Egypt. We pray for an end to the civil war in Syria. We pray for the families of those stricken in Lac-Mégantic and the people of this town will remain in our prayers over the years it will take to rebuild their town and their lives.
Our prayers are also with the McFarlanes, Iris, Massiah, Don & Inge, Kris & Joan, Tony B., Rita, Matilda Wood (Pastor's aunt in Ghana), Paul Heuberger (Germany), Merceda Schmidt (Linda's sister) , Flemming Rasmussen, Genevieve & Nicolas, Julie W., Carol, Diane, Robert E., Josette S., Tabita W., Erika S., Rosa C., Audrey W. and Shirley W. (Recovering from a broken hip.), who are ill, recovering from illness, or in pastoral care. We pray for the community of Peter B.'s church, which recently burned down. We pray for the our pastor and his family, at the time of the loss of the pastor's brother.
